Our walk-in annual ‘Inspiration Exhibition’ coincides with the opening weekend of the prestigious Ilkley Literature Festival. Meet free motion embroidery illustrator Aneeta Seshan of Stitchy Tales and needle felting artist Jessica Jenyns and discover the incredible narrative art they produce from their unusual textile crafts. No booking required.
Aneeta tells stories through her intensive embroideries, using thousands of stitches to depict her narratives. Her works reflect every day life and the heritage of her Yorkshire home and built environment. Jessica reimagines second hand and up cycled wool with detailed needle felted images that celebrate the animals and landscapes of the British Isles and express her connection with the Natural World.
The exhibition will give include a preview of Aneeta’s illustrations for Duttons for Buttons 120th anniversary book, The Gift – a haberdashery fairy tale.
Both Aneeta and Jessica’s work will be on sale during the show.
Mrs Duttons Wondrous Workshops Ilkley is our learning space for a large range of textile crafts.
