Nalbinding Workshop with Kayleigh Thompson-Clarke – Saturday 6 February (10am-4pm) York

Take part in the revival of an endangered textile craft practiced 6,000 years ago that kept 10th century Vikings warm.

According to Heritage Crafts, the only nalbound item in the UK was found on Coppergate, York, where Duttons for Buttons resides, and is on display just around the corner from us in The Jorvik Viking Centre (pictured).

In this hands-on workshop, nalbinding specialist Kayleigh Thompson-Clarke of Keila Nalbinding teaches you how to master the basics of this single needle textile craft.

Complete a small project in class and with practice, you will soon be able to tackle one of her toasty kits and patterns.

Authentic nalbinding needle and yarn included. No previous experience is required.

Please kindly note:

You’re welcome to cancel your booking up to 14 days before the workshop date. If you need to cancel after that time, we’re unable to offer a refund or move your booking. However, we’d be happy to transfer your place to someone else of your choosing at no additional cost.
