Wet felt a stylish accessory starting with your personal colour-way. Then use our tutor’s stash of wonderful wool fibres to add texture to your project. Finish your bag with a pair of our handles or bring your own. Drift wood, for instance, makes a truly unique bag.
You will learn to create an exciting and adaptable textile material. Wet felt is made by compressing and matting together natural animal or plant fibres. Textile artist Wendy Gray is passionate about the process. It involves laying down layers of wool then soaking and manipulating the wool to bond the fibres together. Embellish your bag with needle felting or hand embroidery if you wish.
You don’t need any previous experience. This makes this workshop suitable for absolute beginners as well as those looking to improve and extend their textile and artistic skills.
We provide light refreshments throughout the day. For lunch, you can explore the lovely cafés of York, and eat out or bring something back to the workshop.
After this class, you will receive a 10% off voucher to spend online.
Please note: There are two steps up to our workspace. We apologise for if this prevents anyone from attending.
