This full day workshop introduces you to the satisfying craft of Lino printing. Start by creating a design based on your own photograph or magazine image (or let textile artist tutor Wendy Gray be your inspiration). Then create the Lino cut you will use for printing. Experiment printing on paper then when you have a design you are happy with, Wendy will show you how to print your design onto fabric. If you wish, you can use colourful embroidery stitches to highlight your final piece. The end result will be a gorgeous piece of textile art you can be proud of. It will look great in a frame or integrated into a cushion cover.
Wendy will show you some key creative stitches to add colour and personality to your art work. If you have never stitched before, don’t worry – she is a patient, qualified teacher. If you already know some embroidery techniques, you will find slow stitching in good company mindfully relaxing.
The workshop includes everything you need and no previous printing or stitching experience is required.
Each participant also receives a 10% voucher to spend online or put towards another workshop.
Access notice: there are two stairs to the workroom in Ilkley. We sincerely apologise if this prevents anyone attending.
Please kindly note:
You’re welcome to cancel your booking up to 14 days before the workshop date. If you need to cancel after that time, we’re unable to offer a refund or move your booking. However, we’d be happy to transfer your place to someone else of your choosing at no additional cost.
